Red Wing is of course, best known as the home of Red Wing Shoe Company but the area enjoys a broad economic base that includes manufacturing, a thriving agricultural community and a tourism industry served by another leading employer, Treasure Island Resort and Casino. In addition to excellent school systems, Red Wing is also home to South East Minnesota Technical College. Medical services for the area are provided by the new Fairview Red Wing Medical Center.
